Sharing is beautiful

I can still remember it well. Phil, Andre and I were all six years old. We played all day long and enjoyed our friendship. Whenever we wanted something to eat, we ran to our parents' houses. There everyone called for their mother to get sweets and something to eat. Most of the time the supplies were secured from the balcony. “Maaaamaaaa can you throw me something sweet? A little more Maaaamaaa, I'm with Phil and Andreeeee!!!!!” Then we ran back and ate everything we could get at home together. We played together, shared our snacks and our bread. It filled us even back then. Even though we couldn't put it into words, we knew that everything tastes better and is more beautiful when shared.

Share to fight evil

In the area where we lived there were smaller cliques of young people, the “gangs”. They tyrannized the weaker ones and some of them dealt or were drug users. We saw women lying on the side of the road raped. We saw that the world was not the ideal world that we knew from the television series. Evil is spreading and we wanted to share to fight evil. The ever-increasing influence of the cliques soon had its consequences. Some of our friends got involved with them and did the same crooked things. Drugs, robbery, violence and much more became part of the lives of many. However, we didn't want to give up on our friends so easily. We were able to enjoy the good and the sharing. We grew older and our cosmos expanded. When we were around 15 years old, we no longer just organized tournaments and other activities in the neighborhood, but in almost all of Hamburg. We were able and wanted to offer hundreds of young people an alternative.
