In Afghanistan, our efforts lead the support of two orphanages that not only provide refuge, but also serve as platforms to transform the lives of children. Our goal is to get these children into a good education within a period of 5 years that will ensure them a promising future. In addition to the orphanages, we look after 65 families, whom we encourage and support to become self-sufficient within 5 years. We rely on education and sustained assistance to give these families the tools to achieve long-term self-sufficiency. We also focus on building wells in schools in villages. Through this measure we want to reduce the burden of water supply on children. Our goal is that the children can concentrate fully on their school education in the summer instead of having to carry liters of water to school, which usually puts a lot of strain on them. Another key project is the creation of an orphanage that aims to provide young people with a good education so that when they become adults they will be able to support their families while building their country. Our belief is that investing in education and long-term support paves the way to a better future - not just for individuals, but also for the entire community in Afghanistan.
